From March 19- 23, ISG Dammam held their annual book fair which was organized by the newly established Literature Beyond Reading Club (LBR).  The event was about more than selling new books, and the aim was that every visitor would leave having a great experience.  There were art activities, competitions, a photobooth, a spelling bee, a tattoo parlor with face painting and henna, and jewelry and stationery sale.

Worth mentioning is the success of the thrift shop that was set up at the book fair for the very first time.  Books were donated by teachers, students and parents which allowed previously loved books to find a new home. The money raised from these sales went to multiple initiatives; it helped relocate a refugee family, provided aid to Turkish and Syrian earthquake survivors, and some amount was donated to a family in need.

The Literature Beyond Reading Club was founded in 2021 to unite like-minded people and show its members the true power of literature and the gifts it has to offer through reading challenges, debates, activities, creative workshops and fun competitions.

The ISG Dammam annual book fair took months of preparation, planning and communication and in the end was well executed by the LBR club officers, members and their sponsor, Ms. Sadaf Ahmed.  Thank you to everyone who had a hand in the success of this event.
