Dear Parents,
At ISG our students’ safety is a priority. We’ve recently completed our annual update of the Child Protection Handbook, which describes philosophies, policies, standards, guidelines and procedures to protect children from both intentional and unintentional harm. We also want you to know that all our staff at ISG undergo annual safeguarding training and refreshers, to stay current with child protection and safety regulations. Please take some time to go through this handbook.
ISG Dammam held its first Open House of the year. While parents were busy meeting teachers, high school students had the opportunity to showcase the various clubs they’ve started out of their own passions: National Honors Club, MUN, Chess, Sports, Computing and Programming, Literary, Compassion, Cooking, Drama, Music Club, and more. I was thrilled to see so many student volunteers. These young leaders are committed to serving their community and are truly an inspiration. You can watch a short recap of the day here.
In alignment with the 2030 Vision and the United Nations SDG goals, an ISG Dammam senior student volunteered for a month at a local Saudi company, as part of the Knowledge Exchange for Youth Supporting Society (KEYSS) project, and developed educational short stories for children with special needs. With a grant from the U.S. Consulate, these stories were then sent to print, and although the program is over, the team continues to work on making these books available all around the Kingdom.
We want to remind you that we will be celebrating Saudi National Day next week. Please don't forget that there will be no school on Wednesday and Thursday, September 21 and 22. Enjoy the long weekend and happy Saudi National Day!
Best wishes,
Dr. Michael P. Mack
